STOP PRESS
Hetty Hummer is claiming a first for Great Britain by becoming the first mobility scooter to reach Blakeney Point in Norfolk. She arrived at the furthest sandbank on the desolate shingle spit just four hours after leaving her base camp on Cley beach at 9am this morning. She and her driver (ie me) planted a flag at the spot to mark our achievement, although the only witnesses were two seals, one herring gull and the remains of a plastic cola bottle!
Our adventure will become the second story in the 'Hetty's Grand Tour' series of stories. (Hetty and I are touring all the National Trust Properties in East Anglia).

  1. The journey was made more arduous than I expected - the tea room on the Point was closed for the winter - bugger!
